Every student begins with Discover. From there, strong proposals move into company-led validation, and selected teams progress toward execution opportunities.
Validation is led by companies, not by classroom evaluation.
After Discovery, student teams submit their proposals for company review. Companies shortlist proposals that align with their real needs and invite those teams into a Validation Sprint.
This matters because companies are not participating symbolically. They engage because they want outcomes. They may have clear objectives but lack the time, internal bandwidth, or structured problem-solving support to achieve them independently.
Mentors prepare students to connect, collaborate, and communicate with companies.
DegreeLabs is building a mentor community that supports students across Discover, Validate, and Grow. Mentors help students strengthen their thinking, improve their solution logic, communicate more professionally, and become better prepared for company-facing interactions.
Not shortlisted immediately?
The journey continues.
Students who do not move directly into the Validation Sprint are not left behind. Two weeks after completing Discover, they gain access to a pool of real industry challenges where they can explore opportunities aligned with their education, skills, aspirations, and ambitions.
They can form cross-functional teams, work on selected challenges for four weeks, and submit proposals for company review at no cost. A one-time opportunity access model will later allow students to continue exploring such opportunities over time.
